This image of Helios rising in a proposed reconstruction of Parthenon East Metope 14, by Katherine A. Schwab, follows a study of the original marble carving, dating to 447-442 B.C.E., in the Acropolis Museum in Athens. The original graphite drawing formed part of an exhibition, An Archaeologist’s Eye: The Parthenon Drawings of Katherine A. Schwab, which toured the U.S.A., from 2014 to 2018.
